East Bank Art Walk establishes the “left bank” of the Providence River between Rhode Island School of Design and the Hurricane Barrier at Narragansett Bay as an international site for performance art, video art in the public realm, and an integrated public park and sculpture field. The initial works investigate the remnant overpass of Route 195 as a site for temporary installations prior to its demolition as part of the 195 Relocation Project. East Bank Art Walk re-imagined the linear riverfront as a generously-scaled platform for lively experiments in public art.
